- June 2004 Article in opposition of MIS published in Orthopedic Clinics of North America. The author stresses that there are more peer reviewed articles on the standard procedure than MIS, and that surgeons need extensive training prior to doing this new procedure.

The authors note that this operation is not for everyone, and results in faster surgery, quicker recovery, and good results so far. Long-term follow-up is necessary to fully evaluate this new procedure.
